PM11 Metal Kick Drum King!- Recordinghacks Review

Miktek took the crown in the recent Recordinghacks kick drum microphone shoot-out. Through an array of 20 microphones, from standards to the ecclectic, the Miktek PM11 stormed the castle, dethroning the D6 as the “Metal kick drum King!” according to reviewer Eric Beam. In general Eric noted that the PM11 had a “hyped attack and sub-frequency sound” from a more open high end coupled with an L-C inductor circuit,  giving the microphone a very in phase LF boost. The unique design gives the PM11 what Beam calls a, “Compressed sound out of the box, (with) minimal processing needed”. With the PM11 decimating the competition in Hip-hop, Country, and Americana, it was only a matter of time until Metal surrendered to Miktek.
